Cruise is now going to the Neuroxcel Gym in North Palm Beach four to five days a week. NEUROXCEL Corporation is a research and development company committed to improving the lives of individuals with a spinal cord injury (SCI) or stroke.
NEUROXCEL provides its clients the opportunity to recover their greatest possible degree of recovery and personal independence by providing cutting-edge technologies, gait strengthening equipment and one of the most comprehensive activity-based strength training programs available. They work with Cruise on strengthening the muscles that he can move voluntarily but also use electric stimulation and other equipment to use all of his muscle groups. This physical activity helps to prevent muscle atrophy, promote circulation, maintain bone density and will help Cruise in his recovery process.
These photos show Cruise working on core strength, using electrical stimulation to work his leg muscles on the bike, and using his quadriceps to push his bend knees straight! He has been getting stronger, more confident and getting more muscle return with this daily workout and we are all very excited for this opportunity. He has made connections with other people who are in similar situations and together with the staff, dogs and equipment are all working hard towards greater recovery.
